Mob-movie tension meets a sci-fi time-travel twist, and somehow it works. Vince Vaughn keeps his charisma while playing it straighter than usual, and the film wisely leans on flawed, messy people living with the consequences of their choices rather than flashy mechanics. Tense, funny and a little absurd — familiar and original at once.
